Sanam Tavakkoli Oskouei

Running, Sports & Musculoskeletal Injuries, Shoulder Injuries & Postoperative Rehabilitation

Sanam (She/Her) has 11 years of experience as a physiotherapist, with a particular focus on sporting injuries and musculoskeletal conditions. She also has extensive experience in running-related injuries, lower-limb post-operative rehabilitation (ie. ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, joint arthroplasties, etc), and chronic pain.

She completed her PhD at Monash University which was mainly focused on lower limb overuse injuries, particularly in runners. In this role, she gained an in-depth knowledge of the assessment of running, posture, and movement patterns, enabling her to design a thorough exercise plan to restore and refine function and prevent injuries.

She has presented her research at national and international conferences in sports and published several papers. Thanks to her passion for research, she has always put effort into applying new evidence to her practice to gain better treatment effects. Sanam has also undergone further advanced training for rehabilitation strategies for shoulder injuries and chronic pain. Sanam uses a combination of manual therapy and an exercise-based approach to help her patients return to what they love doing.

Outside of work, Sanam enjoys running and playing tennis and loves to explore different cultures, customs, and food.
