Is your body letting you down?

Are you ready for change?

  • Fed up with a body that lets you down?
  • Tired of having a sore back or other aches and pains?
  • Do you simply want your body performing at its peak?
  • Are you a mum-in-waiting or a new mum?

If the answer is YES.

Then Clinical Pilates is right for you.

  • It is the most effective method to eliminate body aches and pains, restore muscle imbalances,  improve posture, and strengthen your body.
  • The key to any great program is to have a personalised program that caters exactly to your body and your goals.  Our expert Physios and Osteos spend the time to assess and plan your perfect pilates program to help you reach your goals faster.

  • Our instructors are all osteopaths, physiotherapists and myotherapists who all undergo hundreds of hours of additional training every year to deliver excellence.

  • We have instructors who have additional expert training in prenatal, postnatal, back pain, hip and lower limb rehabilitation, sports/athletic performance/running, and shoulder rehabilitation.

Why should I choose Clinical Pilates over yoga or regular pilates run at my local gym/fitness centre/community centre?

In Clinical Pilates you are assessed by an expert physio or osteo with advanced training in pilates rehabilitation and a personalised program is developed for you.

Clinical Pilates is not a fitness or weight loss class

It is designed to progressively build your body from the inside out, so it’s strong and resilient allowing you to tackle whatever life throws at you.

It is why most professional sporting teams do supervised clinical pilates every week (and nearly every celebrity).

Regular Pilates is a generalised exercise class focused on improving fitness and does not take in to account an individual’s past injuries and body type.  In regular pilates everyone does the same exercises which may or may not be helpful for you.  Clinical Pilates takes out the guesswork so you get results.

I love that progress is taken seriously and the therapists I see are passionate about their jobs. I have seen results through this year working alongside Nathan Gravina. His knowledge and passion is remarkable. Thank you

The key to an effective program is having a practitioner with additional qualifications in Pilates assess your body in a comprehensive way. This is a 45 minute appointment which includes a thorough history and physical examination and tests to assist in the development of a safe and effective program.

A real life movie of your core muscles at work. We utilise the most advanced technology to look at how your core muscles are working. This is especially important for women post pregnancy.

Just you and your instructor – 1 on 1. We finalise your program and make sure that we get things right from the start, a program which will build a strong foundation for your new body. This is also a 45 minute appointment. You are now ready to move in to a small group class of maximum 4 participants.

There is no set and forget here. When you have been attending classes regularly for 6 – 12 weeks and you are stronger, more flexible, fitter and when we can see real progress, your instructor will book you in for a re-assessment. This is where we extend your program and set new challenges to ensure that you are on track to reach your goals.

We have experience helping clients with

  • Lower back pain
  • Safe exercise during pregnancy
  • Core and pelvic floor strengthening after pregnancy
  • Disc injuries
  • Neck and shoulder pain
  • Rehabilitation after surgery or as an alternative to surgery
  • Athletic performance – join the pro’s who do Pilates for that extra edge
  • Eliminating general aches and pains
  • Men who think that Pilates is just for women – try telling that to The Melbourne Storm players who regularly do Pilates to help keep them injury free. We have both male and female instructors who can help you reach our goals.

Clinical Pilates focuses on the brain’s pathways to “switch on” the correct muscles in the correct sequence, creating new muscle memory, making sure the right muscles are being used for the right movement pattern (rather than compensating with other muscle groups). One of the main difference is the extent of knowledge and training that a Clinical Pilates trainer has. This allows them to clinically assess a person, adjust, modify and choose exercises and to tailor a program to the individual. Each person participating in a Clinical Pilates class will work on their own personalised program.
Benefits of Clinical Pilates
• Improves flexibility
• Improves strength

• Ability to adapt program as an individual’s needs change

Regular Pilates is a generalised exercise class and does not take in to account an individual’s injuries, history, pathologies and specific physiological needs. An instructor for Regular Pilates will lead a exercise program to a group where all participants do the same movements.
Benefits of regular Pilates;
• Improves strength
• Improves flexibility

If you are a mum-in-waiting or a new mum you can attend any of our Clinical Pilates classes and work on your personalised program. All our practitioners have completed pre- and post-natal training and can provide the support and care that you need. We have pre- and post-natal ladies in all our classes as this is a safe and excellent form of exercise for changing bodies.

Clinical Pilates has evolved from traditional Pilates to become the most effective tool in combating chronic (long term) or recurrent injuries, especially back pain but also neck, shoulder, hip, groin and knee pain/injury. This is a form of Pilates which is primarily used for rehabilitation.

Our Clinical Pilates program is designed to specifically identify and treat the causes of chronic pain. It is run by our experienced Physiotherapists, Osteopaths and Exercise Physiologists who all have extensive post graduate training in chronic and complex spinal conditions and in Clinical Pilates.

Clinical Pilates is not just another form of exercise. It is a complete system of assessment, diagnosis and treatment that is individually tailored to your condition – which guarantees results.

During an initial assessment, your practitioner will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your body to determine the origin of your injury or pain. Based on this they will write a program designed for you to eliminate the cause of your problem.

To get started, please call 9484 5712 to discuss your particular requirements and book your initial comprehensive assessment.
